For the most part, International students are awarded with scholarships based on their merits and needs. The Australian Government offers their prestigious scholarships and fellowships for International students to undertake study, research, and professional development. However, it is best to consult with your education provider for the scholarship program they offer. Programs have their own criteria of selection for you to be eligible.

A primary student visa
holder is allowed to work a maximum of 40 hours per fortnight once your academic program has commenced and is in session. Although, you will be allowed to work unrestricted hours when the program is not in session. A secondary student visa holder, enrolled on a Masters degree program will have the full-time work rights.

Regulated by the Department of Home Affairs, a student visa applicant will need to show the funds including 1 year of tuition and fees, living expenses, and enough funds for return tickets to home. As things stand, the required costs for various categories are:
